It's difficult to put into words just what a privilege it is to be entrusted with such precious and sentimental items and asked to use your own creative expression to turn them into a unique keepsake.

For almost all of the keepsake items I have made, my customers have generously shared details of their loved ones whose clothing is being used. In some instances, it has taken years for them to feel able to get the item out of storage and make the decision to get a keepsake item made. So I do appreciate the trust that is placed in me.

The actual process of selecting what item of clothing is to be used on which part of the bear or how different patterns are sandwiched together in a cushion or quilt is an exciting part of the process to me, and can often take quite a while until i feel I have got the right "look". And even after all that, it is only when I finally hold up the item at the end that I can see if my ideas were as effective as I hoped!

These are a few of the Shugglebears that have become the keepers of some very special memories.
